Western Water's Board has established four committees to facilitate corporate governance responsibilities. Each committee operates under written terms of reference.
Audit Committee
The Audit Committee is empowered to examine any matters relating to the financial affairs of Western Water, the organisation's internal procedures and internal and external audits. The Committee is also responsible for considering compliance with legislation impacting upon Western Water's activities and other procedures including asset valuation, insurance and risk management.
Remuneration Committee
The Remuneration Committee reviews the salary arrangements adopted by Western Water for employees. The Committee makes recommendations on the remuneration of Western Water's individual executives, the terms of employment for all Western Water employees and performance management systems. The Committee ensures the implementation of remuneration policies for all Western Water employees.
Policy Review Committee
The Policy Review Committee is responsible for investigating, reviewing and developing Western Water's strategic policies to ensure good corporate governance.
Capital Works Committee
The Capital Works Committee reviews and develops recommendations to the Board to ensure good management of Western Water's capital works program. The committee provides strategic input to the development of the capital works component of Western Water's Corporate Plan, reviews progress of the plan and recommends actions to ensure timeframes and budgets are achieved.
