Responsible for planning and managing the policies, strategies and objectives of Western Water's business, the Board has a wide range of relevant skills, experience and expertise to meets its objectives.
The Board's fundamental role is to build and demonstrate a strong commitment to integrated water resource management. The primary focus is on environmental, economic and social sustainability to ensure that the current and future water and sewer needs of our community are met in a cost effective and environmentally sustainable manner.
The Western Water Board comprises seven Board Members, who each bring specialist skills to the organisation.

John Wilkinson

Responsible for leading and managing the organisation, John is a qualified accountant with more than 26 years experience in the water industry. Appointed Chief Executive of Western Water in June 2002, John leads the organisation in achieving its vision and contributing to a sustainable future. In 1998, John received the Institute of Water Administration's most prestigious award, the Barry Leach Award, acknowledging exceptional service to the Institute and the Victorian water industry. |
Marcos Anastassiou

Marcos holds degrees in Mathematics, Social Sciences, and Organisation Behaviour, is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has variously worked in higher education as a planner and academic and consultant. He currently holds a senior planning position at RMIT. Marcos has lived in the Macedon Ranges since 1992, and has been active in the community. He was a Councillor for the Shire of Macedon Ranges from 1997-2000, a Board member of the Djerriwarrh Health Service from 2000-2003 and is a current Board Member of the Port Phillip and Western Port Catchment Management Authority.

Dorothy has 30 years of experience in teaching, state consultancy, curriculum administration and governance. A professional mediator and counsellor, Dorothy is a member of the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors and a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. |
Lucia Cade

Carol Mathew
Board Member
| Carol has a degree in Social Work and a PhD in Sociology. Her Board experience includes Commissioner Local Government Best Value Victoria; Chair Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation - Rare Natural Fibres Committee; Director Australian Alpaca Co-operative Board; and Director Central Victorian Regional Enterprise Network. Carol was Victorian Rural Woman of the Year in 2002, and has managed an Alpaca stud farm in Lancefield since 1995. Prior to this, she spent 17 years in Local Government both as a City Councillor and as a senior executive officer.
