Melton Sewerage Upgrade:
Construction has begun on the new sewer main to service
the growth corridor of Melton and Melton South. The

for population increase. -

The upgrade to increase capacity and produce Class A recycled
water is due for completion this year. The plant will supply
recycled water to the Eynesbury Township and new
development in the surrounding region. This will reduce the
use of drinking water by up to 50% in each household.

New Storage Tank
The current 500,000 litre tank will be replaced with a 3.5

Macedon and provide an essential resource for CFA
firefighting efforts. -
Pierce Reservoir Barringo
A new water saving technology, called 'Raftex' will be
jointly trialled by Victoria University, Western Water and
contractor 'F-cubed'. 'Raftex' is a floating reservoir cover
that minimises evaporation. It also reduces light penetration
to minimise the rist of algal growth, thereby improving water quality.
Riddells Creek

Recycled Water Scheme:
With the Small Towns Development Fund, Western Water will
co-fund a recycled water pump and pipeline for Riddells
Creek. Estimated at $450,000 the project will provide
recycled water for example to the playing fields at the
Riddells Creek Reserve.

the testing site. More investigation commenced in July
to assess the water quality and quantity and potential impacts
of the bore. Depending on the results, the water may be used
to augment the existing town water supply.
