Showers consume around 30% of a households water use. By removing an old inefficient showerhead and installing a free 3-star water efficient showerhead you can make significant water savings.
Western Water, with the help of Shire of Melton, Moorabool Shire Council and Macedon Ranges Shire Council, have now set up showerhead exchange points in the following locations:
- Bacchus Marsh
- Gisborne
- Melton
- Romsey
- Sunbury
- Woodend
There are three simple steps to take to obtain your free showerhead:
- Register: Call Western Water on 9218 5544 to register. A letter will be sent to you confirming your registration and provide further details on showerhead exchange point locations and opening times.
- Exchange: Sign the letter and take it, along with your old showerhead, to a showerhead exchange point.
- Install: Install your new showerhead using the simple instructions provided in the showerhead pack.
You will be provided with a water efficient showerhead which uses 9 litres of water per minute and Western Water will recycle your old showerhead for you.
Please note:
- The showerhead exchange offer is for one showerhead per property
- The offer is not available to properties that took up the 2006/07 offer
- If you rent, you must ask the property owner to register for the showerhead exchange program on your behalf
- The showerheads are not suitable for customers with gravity fed or low pressure water supplies
- The showerhead exchange program is for Western Water customers only
